Mike Tod

Mike Tod, a wry and raspy tenor, brings conviction and candor to his renditions of well-worn traditionals. Delving into their roots, he shares them authentically, blending past and present. His debut studio release, the Mike Tod LP (April 2023), soared to #1 on CJSW’s Folk Chart and #3 on both the National Earshot Top 50 Chart and CKUA’s Top 30 Chart. Garnering airplay and profiles on CBC Music and NPR, it has amassed over 430K streams on Spotify. Hailed as “a masterclass in folk Americana” (Prism Reviews) and “gorgeously dark” (Folk Radio UK), Tod's knack for weaving history with modernity shines through. Cinematic arrangements lend a contemporary edge to traditional tunes, offering listeners a truly unique experience of old-time songs with modern clarity and true grit
