The Artist Panel Primed Smooth wood panels have a semi-absorbent acid-free ground that is amazingly smooth and accepts artists' paints and drawing materials beautifully. These panels are completely primed on the surface and on the sides of the cradle, great for artists that want to wrap their images around the edge without the extra prep work. The Primed Smooth panel is ideal for oils, acrylics, water media and pencil in all painting styles especially highly detailed paintings and drawings. The cradled versions consist of top quality 1/8 HDF coated with an acrylic gesso primer and fully supported with solid pine wood cradle support frames. Available in two standard cradled profiles, 7/8in and 1.5in, both are simple to hang or frame. The flat 1/8in panel is made using Ampersand true artist hardboard for extra dimensional stability in larger sizes. Ultra-stable, these wood panels will not give, bend or flex and like all of Ampersand's panels, they are made with quality materials that have been tested both for durability and also for performance with artists' paints.
