It was designed to be reversible, by rotating 180 degrees you can change your exhaust back and forth from top to bottom discharge.

It is designed to hold a 12x24x1 standard furnace filter. Note: Inexpensive standard furnace filters work best, if you use an expensive allergen filter (e.g. filtrate furnace filter) it will restrict flow and cause inadequate ventilation.
