How I solved my diamond wooden burr puzzle

The Diamond #33 Puzzle is a Burr made up of 33 non-identical, wooden pieces that mesh to form a 3D diamond. There is a central piece deceptively disguised in the design that serves as a key to unlocking the sculpture. The first challenge is “shattering” the diamond. Then, the real struggle is to reconstruct the shape to its former glory, which proves difficult due to the unique intricacies in each piece.
