Serial number 22922, .50-95 caliber, with set trigger, octagonal barrel with adjustable rear sight marked on the top "WINCHESTER'S REPEATING ARMS, NEW HAVEN, CT./KING'S-IMPROVEMENT-PATENTED-MARCH 28, 1866, OCTOBER 16, 1860." and at the breech "50 CAL," frame with sliding cover marked "WINCHESTER EXPRESS/.50 CAL. 95 GRS.," the underside of the breech block engraved "50-95" and tang marked "MODEL 1876," walnut stock with steel butt plate, (metal toned to mottled brown, traces of bluing on bottom side flats of barrel, loading door has traces of bluing and there are subtle traces of bluing on the trigger guard, stock has minor dings and dents, bore has minor pitting but sharp rifling throughout, action functions properly). Barrel lg. 26, overall lg. 46 1/2 in.
