The Artists' Way is a 12-Week inquiry into self-expression, creativity, and experience. This FieldTrip is for all people, not just fine arts-artists! Like any project, staying focused on the 12-week journey of the Artists' Way can be difficult in isolation. The intention of this FieldTrip series is to build community around the shared practice of the Artists’ Way, so that we may join together in a celebration of creativity, imagination, and self-inquiry. *While the Artists' way is a 12-week course, over the next month, we'll simply be kickstarting it by exploring the Introduction / Morning Pages, Weeks 1, 2, and 3. * 🎥 If you missed last week's class, don't worry! I'll be sharing recordings for each class in the pre and post-emails so as long as you've registered, you can always catch up, or just hop on the ride whenever you get here! 💌 Psst. If you aren't big into reading, watch my 1 minute welcome invitation with all the details ✨WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEK In our second workshop, we'll ✔️Dive into exploring Week 1: Recovering A Sense of Safety ✔️Check in on how your first week of morning pages and artist dates went (note: this is a NON JUDGEMENTAL space. we're here to notice and observe, not critique and criticize!) ✔️Time Travel: Explore some of our past creative allies and creative dissenters ✔️ OPTIONAL POST-FIELDTRIP BREAKOUTS: The FieldTrip itself will run for 1-hour and 15 minutes, with an optional 15 minutes of breakout rooms after! 🎒What To Bring this week ✔️ Pen and Paper ✔️ Any craft materials you have around the house: Glue sticks, magazines, paint, cardboard, sharpies, glitter, etc ✔️ A blank notebook Who is this FieldTrip Series for? EVERYONE! Whether you're new to Artists' Way, or an old friend, you're welcome here :). If you're intrigued by this FieldTrip series, but don't identify as an Artist, fear not. The Artists' Way could be more aptly named, The Humans' Way! Everyone is welcome. Creativity comes in all shapes, sizes, and expressions. When will the FieldTrip Meet? Every Monday from 6:30 - 8:00 EST for the month of January! [We'll be taking the event pages live shortly, watch the space!] ✨WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE SERIES These FieldTrips will be very participant centered and hands-on. We're all experts here! ✔️ For each chapter, we will dive into an interactive and crafty overview to explore the key-questions and themes that arise. We will dive in together through individual self-reflection and collective sharing. From this series you can expect LOTS of personal reflection time, writing prompts, and weird-drawing and making activities. ✔️ Each week I will integrate a few of the questions that Julia Cameron has shared in her book, as well as a few prompts that were inspired by her work. ✔️ The intention of this experimental series is not to act as a substitute or carbon copy of the Artists' Way, but to serve as a touch point along each of your collective journeys. ✔️ While reading the book itself is definitely encouraged, you do not need to read the Artists' Way to participate in these workshops.
